Restoring Business Confidence

The business community has been sitting on the sidelines, and it's contributing to a sluggish economy. The economy and the markets do not like uncertainty, and they have had nothing BUT uncertainty lately. The good news is that several things have happened recently that should help give the US economy a kick start. 1 - Tax Rates
Business like certainty, and predictability. Businesses have been faced with potential raising tax rates. If Congress had allowed tax rates on the "rich" to expire, then half of all profits from small businesses would have been affected by the higher tax rates. It's these same small businesses that drive the economy and create jobs. 2 - The Omnibus Spending Bill
In the Senate, Harry Reid had introduced a spending bill a few days ago loaded with billions in earmarks from both political parties. It's a good sign that the bill has been pulled. Maybe politicians are finally understanding that we can't keep spending money we don't have. And that the American people are fed up with business as usual in Washington. 3 - Business Friendly Environment
For the last two years, rightly or wrongly, the business community has viewed the White House as anti-business. From new health care legislation to new financial regulations, Congress and the White House has pushed for priorities that are not pro-business, or pro-economy. With an agreement on keeping the Bush era tax rates, business can hope for a more friendly business environment in the months to come. If Congress can continue to focus on tackling out of control spending, deficits, and the national debt, we should see some resurgence in our struggling economy. And hopefully, more jobs.

The business community does not exist. This is a 'category' that has been created so that economists can promulgate their latest theories and excuses for national decline.
In reality, no business owner gives a twopenny cuss about the performance of any of his competitiors if it does not immediately impact upon his own business.
A business is like a pixel on this computer screen - you can have a significant number of pixels fail to function yet the screen will still be effective. Just as the pixels in this screen work independently of each other - so do the businesses in what is laughingly referred to as 'the business community'.
Businesses do the best that they can - they do not sit back and vegetate just because some numbnut says there is no business.
"Several things have happened recently that should help give the US economy a kick start." This time of year is wonderful for the economy ... come January???
